Netherlands Space Office (NSO) will organize a G4AW information meeting for the second call of the public tender on 11th of September, 2014 in The Hague, The Netherlands.
The Geodata for Agriculture and Water (G4AW) Facility is a programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Netherlands Space Office is responsible for the implementation of this programme. G4AW supports projects to improve food security in partner countries. The projects are aimed to improve sustainable food production and to increase the use efficiency of inputs like seeds, fertilizer, pesticides and water in agriculture by providing satellite information based products and services to farmers, pastoralists and fishermen. Satellite data can help to generate reliable, timely and frequent information facilitating better decision making by food producers. Partnerships between the private and public sector are the basis for developing new projects.
After the first round of the G4AW Facility, the second call for proposals will be published later in the summer of 2014.
During the G4AW information meeting, the objectives and partly revised policies for the second call will be presented. Attention will be paid to tips and tricks for developing a good G4AW project. For example: What is a strong partnership? Who are the interested parties in different countries? How do you bridge the last mile? What is a strong business case? What do food producers want? How do proposals contribute to development goals and create business opportunities?
