On 25 January 2021, the Netherlands will host the Climate Adaptation Summit (CAS). This summit of global leaders reflects the need to adapt now to the impacts of our changing climate. The summit will help calibrate the accelerated action initiated by the Global Commission on Adaptation and leveraging further support for the global movement towards adaptation.
Following the publication of its flagship report and the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit, the Global Commission on Adaptation launched its Year of Action at the United Nations in New York. The CAS is intended to showcase the accelerated action undertaken during the Year of Action and raise the level of ambition on adaptation among countries in the lead-up to the international climate summit (COP26) in November 2021.
